What follows is a parade of real food we cooked and enjoyed on our vacation a few weeks ago. Now, we were on vacation, so we strayed a bit from the real food path at times. Wine, tortilla chips, and salsa were devoured (don’t panic, they were organic). Hot fudge sundaes were relished (soooo not organic). Squeaky-fresh cheese curds were munched (who the hell cares, they were so fresh they squeaked – exceptions must be made). On the way home in one last hurrah at a gas station, I ate Twinkies. TWINKIES. Two of ’em. They cost me $1.19 and my processed food sobriety chips. I am proud to say, however, I have been back on clean food since then.
Is there anything pictured that you’d like the recipe for? Leave a comment and I will happily oblige.
What great vacation food. After all that, the Twinkies can be forgiven! 😉
We spoiled ourselves absolutely rotten with good food. Of course, did I mention that we ventured into town about 4 times that week, and hit the fudge shop every time?? Oh what a week. I can’t WAIT to do it again next year. Twinkies for everyone! LOL
Your food photos are so lovely and you really do know how to make a sandwich! Cheetos are my twinkie.
We have been so busy lately that these veggie sandwiches are becoming a staple, and I never get tired of them. Unfortunately, Cheetos are my Cheetos. Every 3 or 4 months I have hand-to-hand combat with a ferocious craving for Cheetos. Cheetos always win after a couple of weeks. Grr!
Relish on a hot fudge sundae sounds awful.(jk) Hooray for sprouted-grain toast! Sadly once of the best kept secrets of the health foodie.
Heh! Yes, although if I was preggers maybe pickle relish on a hot fudge sundae would be just the thing, right? Love the sprouted grain bread. Any non-sprouted bread just gives me a bloated bellyache.
LOVE your consistent use of avocados! My personal favorite thing on just about anything. 🙂
Avocados – sigh. I could live on them. And I sort of do, I guess!
